Dr. Vela relocated to Northwest Arkansas from Farmington, New Mexico, where he worked as a hospitalist for the past 11 years at San Juan Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Vela was born and raised in Guatemala. He received his medical education at Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala, and completed an internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.
Dr. Vela and his wife have two sons. In his free time, Dr. Vela enjoys running, Crossfit, baseball and soccer.
